Halloween Safety Tips
Halloween is just around the corner! That means cooler weather, creative costumes, and spooky home decorations. When decorating your home there are several Halloween safety tips to keep in mind.
- Jack-O-Lanterns – Make sure to keep lit jack-o-lanterns away from dried leaves or any other flammable materials. Also make sure to never leave your lit jack-o-lantern unattended. Always distinguish the flame when you leave. Battery operated candles are a much safer option and still give the “glowing” effect.
- Decorative Lighting – Be cautious when using candles or open flames to decorate the inside or outside of the home. We recommend only using safety approved electric lighting to decorate walkways and railings.
- Sit Outside – Depending on the weather—and with Ohio you truly never know what you’re going to get—consider sitting outside to hand out candy. This will eliminate the continuous opening and closing of your door and keep the heat inside your home. This is a great way to save energy!
So grab your bowl of worms, witch’s hat and Monster Mash music… you’re ready for Halloween!
